Scenario: gift cards that bring new guests
30 September 2026
A gift card is revenue today and a new guest tomorrow. Here is how to run gift cards in ResoGuest without paper vouchers and spreadsheets.
Typical problems
- Paper vouchers get lost, copied or used twice.
- Nobody knows the remaining balance of a partially used voucher.
- The person who received the gift never becomes a known guest.
How it can be implemented in ResoGuest
- Issue a card. Create a gift card for any amount with a unique code; sell it at the venue or send it to the buyer.
- Redemption. At payment the staff find the card by code and redeem the full amount or part of it.
- Balance and statuses. The system tracks the balance and status: active, partially used, redeemed, expired — with a history of redemptions.
- Recipient becomes a guest. On first redemption the recipient is added to the guest base and can join the loyalty programme.
- Seasonal campaigns. Before holidays, send a broadcast offering gift cards to your best guests segment.
What the client gets
- Transparent accounting: codes, balances and redemption history instead of paper.
- Revenue before the visit and new guests brought by existing ones.
- Recipients enter the CRM and receive future offers.
