Case: group classes and memberships for a fitness or yoga studio
7 October 2026
A class schedule with seat limits, online booking and a visit-pack membership that is deducted on check-in — all in one system.
Picture a yoga studio with three rooms and a packed schedule: morning yoga, midday pilates, evening stretching. Each class has a limited number of mats. Today bookings happen in a chat, seats are counted on fingers, and memberships are ticked off in a spreadsheet.
Typical problems
- More people show up to a popular class than the room can hold.
- Someone booked in the chat but didn't come, and the waitlist never heard about the free spot.
- An 8-class pass is marked by hand — by month's end nobody is sure of the balance.
- The instructor can't see in advance how many people are coming.
How you can set it up in ResoGuest
- In Services & appointments, create group classes with a capacity — e.g. "Hatha yoga, 60 min, 12 seats" tied to an instructor and a room.
- Publish the week's session schedule — the guest sees the day, time, instructor and the number of free seats.
- In the Memberships module, set up packs: "8 classes a month", "unlimited", "trial class". The pass is tied to the guest's profile.
- Open online booking: the guest picks a class and takes a seat; on arrival the receptionist checks them in with one tap and the visit is deducted from the pass.
How it works in practice
The guest books evening stretching from their phone and sees "3 seats left". When seats run out, booking closes automatically — no more overcrowded rooms. A reminder arrives 2 hours before the class.
At the desk the receptionist finds the guest, sees their active pass and remaining visits, and checks them in with one tap. The instructor sees the list of who signed up for their class ahead of time.
What the client gets
- Seat limits enforce themselves — booking closes when the room is full.
- Pass and class booking work together: one visit, one deduction, and the balance is visible to guest and studio alike.
- Reminders cut no-shows, and freed-up seats go to the next person in line.
- The guest's full class and membership history lives in one CRM — with points and instructor reviews.

A group class rests on two things: an honest seat count and a clear pass balance. When the system handles both, the studio grows without chat-group chaos.
